HullKeeper ("we," "our," or "us") provides a boat maintenance tracking application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, mobile application, and related services.

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your:

  • Name

  • Password (stored as a one-way cryptographic hash)

If you sign in with a third-party provider (Google or Apple), we receive your name and email address from that provider. We do not receive or store your third-party password.

Boat and Maintenance Data

We collect information you provide about your boats, including:

  • Boat specifications (hull make/model, engine details, drivetrain configuration)
  • Maintenance records and service history
  • Engine hours and operational data
  • Documents you upload (registration, insurance, manuals, surveys)

Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location

We use the information we collect to:

4. AI-Generated Content

HullKeeper uses third-party AI services to generate maintenance schedules based on your boat configuration. When you request schedule generation, your boat specifications (make, model, engine type, etc.) are sent to our AI provider to research OEM maintenance intervals. No personally identifiable information (name, email, etc.) is included in these requests.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Service providers: Third-party vendors that help us operate the Service (hosting, authentication, file storage, AI processing)
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase and other cloud infrastructure providers. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data and boat information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
